Crawlability is whether crawlers can access and read your pages. For AI it's the foundation: an engine can only recommend content its crawlers were able to fetch. Common blockers are robots.txt rules, non-200 status codes, noindex directives, and content that only appears after JavaScript runs — which most AI crawlers don't execute.
Crawlability matters for both SEO and GEO, and the same fixes help both.
